About us
OUR HISTORY
Our origins trace back to the days of Baijoo and Maharaj Primary School an institution established during the Apartheid era to serve the local community under challenging and unequal conditions. Despite the injustices and restrictions of the time, Baijoo and Maharaj Primary school stood as a beacons of hope – a places where dedicated educators and families worked tirelessly to provide quality education and a sense of dignity to every child.
The staff of Baijoo and Maharaj Primary School instilled in their learners a deep respect for education, discipline and self-worth. They believed that education was not just a path to literacy but a powerful tool for upliftment and liberation.
Their spirit of perseverance and unity laid the foundation for the values that Allandale Primary continues to uphold today.
....
Following the enforcement of the Group Areas Act and the dawn of a democratic South Africa, a new chapter began.
In 1986, Allandale Primary School was formed. Allandale Primary was founded on the belief that every child, regardless of background, deserves access to quality education and the chance to reach their full potential. The school’s name became synonymous with renewal – a fresh chapter in local education that embraced diversity and equality as guiding principles.
Over the decades, Allandale Primary has continued to evolve in step with a transforming South Africa. Through periods of growth and change, the school has remained steadfast in its mission to educate, empower, and inspire. Generations of learners have passed through its gates, carrying forward the same determination and pride that characterized its early years
